Short answer
Two different things:
- Your age. We never ask for an ID document to prove your age, and we don't use outside age-check services. If something suggests you may be under 18, we follow the steps in “Who can use Nixyum?”: you can tell us it's a mistake, and a member of staff decides. If you send us an ID document anyway, it's used only for that decision and then deleted.
- Your Nex. In specific cases we may ask you to confirm who you are for your Nex: if impersonation is suspected, if you do commercial activity on Nixyum, or if the law requires it. This never involves your Nyx and never makes it visible to anyone. If you don't cooperate, some features may be restricted or the account suspended.
